Natural horsemanship is a training and lesson style that places the rider as the leader of the horse. The lessons center around communication, which creates a more trusting, willing, and equal partnership, encompassing all aspects of horse care and handling. Groundwork will be used first to address any concerns while on horseback, then will be practiced riding.

Personalized lessons in natural horsemanship are available at all levels, from beginners to seasoned equestrians looking for a deeper connection.

What to Expect During a Session

Lessons cover all parts of horse ownership, including hands-on help with grooming and tacking. Lessons are based on the needs of the rider and can include problem solving, riding instruction, exercise rides, and groundwork. The language between rider and horse is refined through groundwork, and includes training the rider to correctly recognize and respond to a horse's behaviors. This knowledge of how and when to respond to a horse is the basis of good communication and leads to a harmonious relationship.
